Daniel S. Minkey Memorial

Danny was a 17-year old senior at Rutherford High School when he died tragically in an automobile accident on November 28, 1999. He was a lifeguard at Shipwreck Island Waterpark and loved fishing, swimming, and diving. During his senior year at Rutherford, he was a member of the film crew for the Rutherford football team, recording every practice and game as they made their way toward the state championship.

Danny will always be remembered for his wonderful smile and kind, loving nature. He was a friend to all and would do anything he could to help those in need, especially his fellow students. Danny was very excited about attending Gulf Coast Community College in the fall following his graduation. This aspiration inspired his parents, Stephen and Joanne Minkey, to establish this scholarship.
